MISSION STATEMENT

Pflugerville Volleyball Club Association (PVCA) is excited to offer a competitive volleyball program. The purpose of PVCA is to provide for the acquisition of technical, tactical and mental skills involved in a competitive volleyball program. We want to develop players with an understanding of the value of activities in a balanced educational process. PVCA's objectives are to educate the players physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally. We hope to provide opportunities for individual and team play with the development of such commitments as loyalty, cooperation, and fair play. We will provide directed leadership and supervision that stresses self-discipline, self-motivation, excellence, and the ideals for good sportsmanship. Finally, we hope to create a desire in our players to succeed and excel.

Schedules for each team will include many exciting tournaments where competitive and quality volleyball will be the greatest. The goal for each team is for the athletes to experience volleyball at a highly competitive level, to help inspire a love for the game, and to instill in each young lady the appreciation for good sportsmanship. What each team will be encouraged to do is have fun in this demanding environment.

Time commitments for this season will consist of two practices a week during the months of November through April. Each team will participate in several local tournaments this year. All teams, with the exception of the 12's, will participate in the Lone Star Classic and Regionals. The 12's will participate in Regionals. Our goal for each girl is for them to walk away from the season with the confidence in the fundamentals of volleyball, the understanding of basic court defense and offense, and a working knowledge of the game.

Purpose and Philosophy

The general purpose of the PVCA shall be to promote the sport of volleyball in the Pflugerville area for middle school students. Specifically, the objective of the PVCA shall be to provide opportunities for skill development outside the school volleyball season with activities such as supervised practices and competition. The PVCA shall encourage parent/guardian involvement and good sportsmanship. The club seeks to develop the total athlete.
